We Just Had Our Initial Consultation, What’s Next?

We Just Had Our First Consultation YAY! What’s Next?

You might be like me and when it comes to something you’re excited about and you can be a little impatient! Trust me, if anyone gets that it’s me. So this blog is for you if we just had our first consultation and you can hardly wait for our next meeting so you want to know what I’m working on in the meantime.

First Things First

So, you might be thinking why on earth did she have to ask me so many questions during that first consultation?

The answer is to get to know you both! I don’t believe you can be an *effective planner without knowing the finer details that make you unique as a couple. Sure, you could tell me your budget and ideal venue but how would I truly be able to customize my services and your design with just the bare bones? I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, you should feel extremely comfortable, with your planner and even feel like friends. I am planning the biggest day of your life, would you want a stranger to plan that? So the consultation is the key building block to this whole thing coming together.

After we meet, I am going to take a look back at those notes I took and take some time to think through your vision. I don’t want the proposal I bring back to you guys to feel rushed that’s why I will never promise a 24-hour turnover period or anything like that.

I will typically start by building a vision board that I think aligns with what you want, incorporating the wedding colors, florals, and how you envision it.

From the vision board, I can begin looking through different trusted vendors to see who might be able to bring some of these dreams to life. This is important to ensure what I bring to you as a proposal is doable.

After this comes the really fun part. Putting together your tailored proposal. This is what we will be covering in our upcoming meeting and it will be unique to you two as a couple. It will have the vision board in there along with the unique design elements that I think would compliment you two as a couple. We will spend that second meeting talking through the proposal and making any necessary adjustments. This is when we can start turning these visions into reality and talking through how we will bring all of this to life.

Once we agree on the direction we are going to go in, we will get the contract signed, pop the champagne, and I’ll get to planning!
